WiseWithData has a unique team of experts in SAS, Python, and Apache Spark. Together our team has decades of data science and data engineering knowledge and experience, having created, innovated and delivered advanced analytics solutions using legacy and modern platforms. 

 

 

Our Founder and President

Ian J. Ghent

 

Ian is a data science guru with over 20 years of industry experience. He has a strong background in Apache Spark and legacy SAS based analytical solutions. His broad expertise has been leveraged by many clients in the government, financial, software, retail, health care, and telecom sectors in Canada and abroad. He has a wealth of experience developing data integration, data warehousing, automation, reporting, and statistical and analytical applications. Notably, his past experience includes 5 years at the SAS Institute in a global leadership role, as well as 3 years at Capital One Canada working as a Data Scientist.

 

In 2015, with the introduction of Apache Spark v1, Ian recognized the future of data science was upon us, and left the SAS Institute to found WiseWithData.  His vision was born, and the mission started: help organizations move off legacy and onto Spark – in a way that is fast, simple and accurate. He developed a market leading product called SPROCKET that automates the SAS to PySpark code conversion, delivering over 95% automated output of PySpark production ready code.

Terry Swaren

 

With over 20 years experience driving digital solutions, Terry has led next generation B2B technology go to market strategies for several global technology brands. He recognizes that the path to success isn’t just making a sale, it begins with understanding and aligning the customers needs with the right solution, and maintaining that alignment throughout .

 

With a focus on commitment, fulfilment, seamlessness, responsiveness, proactivity and evolution, he leads the sales team in delivering a superior customer experience.  Terry oversees the Sales organization and contributes significant leadership to our Marketing and Program Management efforts.

Gurpinder (Guri) Khaira

 

Having a background working for a Global SI, Guri has deep knowledge and appreciation of legacy and cloud migration projects. An expert at both SAS and PySpark, he understands that the only way to modernize legacy analytics is to leverage the power of the SPROCKET automated solution. Over the past 2 years, his leadership has helped customers from all over the world leave behind their legacy SAS, and embrace the future with Apache Spark, quickly and easily.

Ban (Mike) Sun

 

Since 2019, Mike has been instrumental in driving the driving automation into our migration solutions. An expert in SAS, Python and PySpark, he has been instrumental in improving the level of quality and automation of our solutions. His key contributions include the design of our advanced analytics ML (STAT) conversion sub-system, and our code optimization engine which ensures converted code runs efficiently in PySpark.

Bryan Chuinkam

 

With a background in the Financial Services and Telecom sector, Bryan has been on the forefront of the innovations in Analytics for over 5 years. He’s been instrumental in helping drive automation and innovation into every facet of what we do, and was the chief architect behind our SearchParty tool. SearchParty helps organizations cut months off their migration planning and prioritization activities.

Sarina Ghent

 

Sarina has been with WiseWithData for over 5 years, and has both managed the day-to-day financial activities, as well as more strategic activities. Her financial planning, funding, and tax initiatives, along with her corporate real-estate management have been a key ingredient to our sustainable growth.

 

In addition to her WiseWithData role, she works with (and chairs) a number of non-for-profit organizations and foundations in the health and education sectors.
