FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 24, 2016 – Ottawa, Canada: WiseWithData has won a competitive multi-year contract with Heath Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) to develop and support their fraud detection and prevention programs. FNIHB administers a $1 Billion CAD health insurance program, the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) to first nations people in Canada. The program covers pharmacy, dental, vision and medical transportation. They have issued a solicitation for help to support their ongoing efforts to combat fraud, waste and abuse within the NIHB program.

WiseWithData will be supporting not only their needs for fraud detection and prevention, but also to improve their data warehouse and BI reporting capabilities. In addition, they will be developing a web based audit case management system, so that cases of fraud or overpayment can be tracked and reported in a more efficient manner.

Comments:

“I’m so proud of our team in putting together the winning bid. They demonstrated to Health Canada that WiseWithData is the most qualified organization for Fraud analytics, data warehousing and reporting using legacy SAS based technologies. Noteworthy is that we beat out the incumbent vendor, the SAS Institute. We look forward to not only delivering on the requirements set forward by Health Canada, but also demonstrating the power and value Apache Spark can deliver, eliminating costly licence fees and ultimately benefiting the Indigenous peoples of Canada.”

Ian J. Ghent – President – WiseWithData
